This Camassia is an easy and rewarding garden bulb. In the wild it grows in marshy soil, but can thrive in a dry sandy garden if well watered in spring.  Grow them in a bed of later flowering Agapanthus to give early colour and structure. Their flowers, loved by bees, are borne on sturdy upright stems which provide welcome height in the herbaceous garden. They are perhaps our favourite spring flowering bulb.

Camassias are one of only a few bulbs that will tolerate a heavier soil. In their native environment in Canada and the U.S they thrive in moist meadowland.
