ALOYSIA citrodora

ALOYSIA citrodora A. citrodora (syn. Lippia citriodora) is perhaps the best of all the many plants with lemon scented foliage. Fresh narrow green leaves. Starry white flowers. July-Sept. Needs sun and sharply drained soil. Common name Lemon verbena. Makes a sturdy shrub in the garden. Prune in late April as new shoots begin to show. In severe winters it may take some time to reshoot. Fresh or dried leaves make a wonderful tea.
