The Plant list
PELARGONIUM transvaalense
Species. Pale pink elongated with deep pink veins. Sometimes shy to flower and when it does its a late season bloomer, flowering from July – November. Soft leaves with a clear zonal marking, formed in dense mounds. Short red stems with ‘knobbly’ growth. Highly unusual and rather striking. Ht 20cm Sp 40cm.
Ciconium group. Introduced in by Knuth in 1912.
The name is derived from the the native habitat, Transvaal and grows in damp wooded areas. We have found the plant to be deciduous in many winters and established plants are often propagated via division. This combined with the natural habitat lend us to believe this species is most herbaceous and may tolerate a British winter more successfully than others.
Pelargonium orders will be dispatched Spring 2025
