Moisture loving Irises from Japan. Iris ensata or Japanese Irises look like a mass of butterflies when planted in groups. They are strikingly beautiful with short standards and flat wide falls giving them the appearance of a floating piece of silk on water. They are moisture loving Iris and will thrive planted on the banks of a stream or pond. They require full sun and humus rich soil, unlike many other Irises the thrive on being fed. They flower from July to August and are easily established in the garden border if well-watered. Click here for growing instructions
